Why is my truck stalling?

i just bought a 1989 ford bronco its an ok truck but when im driving and im either stopped in triffic or at a red light the rpms get real low and i have to put it in nuetral so it doesnt stall out. btw it needs a new radiator so it overheats sometimes. does this have somthing to do with it?
