My bird is scared of the dark! please help, any1 experienced this? when lights go off baby bird goes crazy!?

I have a small baby finch it is 6 weeks old and it completely hand reared. every night before i sleep i put it in its cage, we made a small house for it, and put it in there, and we turn off the lights, however, be4 we off the lights it comes back out and sits on the perch. then once the lights are off, it flaps around like crazy! for like 10-15 mins, it drops it flys back up, it goes mental and try's to into the sides of the cage. it only sleeps in my hand no where else. i built an aviary for it, and as soon as the lights go off, again, it flaps around and hits into the gl until it gives up, it only wants to sleep with me, but i cant do tht, as it may poo all over my bed and me. im sure if it was raised by its parents it would sleep with them and would be fine, but when lights go off it goes mental, has any1 experienced this? with a young baby hand reared finch, my previous experience shows, that adult finches, at approxitmaltey 9 o clock just go inside their house and done make any noise and come out at 8 in the morning, so why does this one go mad!? please help im worried it may hurt itself.
