My 2000 Vauxhall Corsa has 17" Alloys? Too Big? Ive just bought this car.?

and another thing, they are a little worn so how do i go about replacing them, will i need new tyres which will then fit onto the alloys, so i can keep the same alloys? ( I dont have a clue ). Or do the alloys need changed too.. confused ! help :)
