Can you tell who is a "real" Penguins fan by if they defend their own fan base?

I won't defend the entire fan base, but as someone who was attending games years before Mario Lemieux came along, I hate being called a band-wagoner. I was there through the dark days and don't appreciate being called something I'm not. The problem with most questions about Pens fans is that all the fans are automatically thrown into that category, which is the height of stupidity. Broad generalizations is a sign of a weak mind. Especially when you have nothing but your own personal feelings to back up your umptions.
