Do doves make good pets?

I think they're beautiful and gentle birds. I'd love to have one, but my main concern is noise. Parakeets, atiels, Lovebirds, Conures, atoos, and Macaws are all very noisy. And you can't really handle finches or canaries. Doves seem like quiet and peaceful birds that can easily be tamed. Are there any dove owners or bird experts that could give me some good advice? I'd appreciate it, thanks! :)
